Neat clumps of evergreen bluntly pointed strappy foliage that is resistant to dry heat, with the added benefit of pale lavender tubular flowers on long stems once in spring. A reliable supporting actor that doesn't steal the show, use as you would Mondo grass (Ophiopogon) or Liriope elsewhere, and which lean more to everbrown here. For the greening of urban environments, formal gardens or anywhere neat low maintenance greenery is demanded.

Easily grown in any reasonably well drained soil. At its best with regular summer water though thanks to being rhizomatous it has the ability to regenerate rapidly from drought stress or being cut back. Despite being durable, in reality any lush green foliage isn't cut out for fully exposed baking summer sun in a mediterranean climate, only silver, grey and sage, this is doubly so when surrounded by paving, everywhere else is fine.

Probably a distinct form of T. violacea, albeit green, broad, robust, and flowering concisely.
